Each Other Company is a design-led research, consulting and development studio. The studio sees itself as an open study that investigates its work through heterogeneous mediums of communication and design. With a strong background in graphic design, our work communicates across the full spectrum of visual media, and by and large concentrates on educational purposes.
Since 2015, the studio has been engaging in a range of practices including:
— identity, environmental graphics and book for Indonesia Pavilion at the Biennale Architettura 2018;
— art direction for Wonders of Weaving (2015–) and Korea-Indonesia Media Installation Art Exhibition (2016–);
— books for documentary photographer Andri Tambunan and Korean Cultural Center;
— installation for Indonesian Fashion Forward at the Jakarta Fashion Week;
— websites for fbudi, Maknakata and Sean Sheila;
— programs for Ruko Roxy Mas E2/30;
and ongoing consultancy for Ambiyo, Aman Tirta, Byo Living, and Octagon Edu.

Januar Rianto is the founder and creative director of Each Other Company. Prior to founding the practice, he worked in various industries including advertising and marketing in Malaysia and Indonesia. Graduated from London, he later broadened his research and design methodologies in Italy and Japan focusing on speculative design and critique. His practice mainly engages within the intersection of education, design and popular culture. He is an awarded member of the International Society of Typographic Designers, UK (2012).
The studio grows and contracts depending on particular projects. The current team comprises: Januar Rianto, Immanuel-Johannes Palar, Putty Dewikarina and Chrisvensia Layhadi.

In addition to the collaborations with clients, the studio engages in projects and research on the relationship between education, design and popular culture.
— Further Reading, a series of critical reading references and bite-sized periodicals reading into design through wider sociocultural and political contexts.
— Other Review, a digest of findings that casts light on design process, contemporary ideas and creative inspiration. Through communication, we aim to examine the importance of design piece by piece.
— City Scan Map, an on-site research session and workshop that maps the layers of a city through graphic design methodologies.

The studio accepts internship applications for graphic designers, copywriter, and photographer to start immediately. Interns will be helping out on our special projects (publishing, curation and exhibition) that we are currently working on for the next 3–4 months. The ideal candidates are self-motivated, enthusiastic, and articulate. This is a paid internship and for full-time only, Jakarta or Tangerang based.
